Grade B boiler quality plates are also made of carbon steel and are suitable for high-temperature service. It offer good weldability and toughness, similar to Grade A. Grade B plates have a higher tensile strength 485 MPa as compared to Grade A. The minimum yield strength for Grade B plates is 265 MPa.
