It contains a higher percentage of nickel, and the increased Nickel content makes it an excellent choice for marine applications. 316L stainless steel also contains a low carbon content. Dual-certified 316L SS Checkered Plates, Sheets, and Coils are suitable for welding. Because it has a lower carbon content to avoid carbide precipitation in welding applications.
