EN 10028 covers flat products for pressure purpose while the EN 10269 specification provides creep resistance steels that are suitable for the construction of pressurized facilities such as power stations. These forgings are not the given specification, but those for which the specification is a modification.

The major types are classified according to materials and features:

Forgel Steel :

Carbon and Carbon-Manganese : Common grades such as P235GH, P265GH, P355GH are used. They provide good strength and weldability for a range of temperatures and ideal for general pressure applications.

Alloy Steel Forgings :

For very high strength levels and good toughness by controlled thermo-mechanical rolling and normalizing with 3.1/3.2 attestation acc. For more substantial or thicker, higher mechanical property section types they are suitable.

Stainless Steel Forgings :

These are less common from EN 10028 itself but closely related mattresses from other standards as those in austenitic stainless steels are used for forgings where exceptional corrosion resistance and high performance in elevated temperatures are required.

These Forgings are extensively worked out (upset, press or ring-rolled) and heat-treated for grain refinement,which in turns meet the rigorous mechanical, NDE and pressure-containing requirements of the industry.
