Socket Weld Flanges

A socket weld flange is designed to fit over pipes and then welded to make the connection. Socket weld flanges are made up of stainless steel alloy. These flanges are considered to be better than slip-on flanges. It has only one weld, but a gap of 1.6mm must be maintained between the flanges and pipe before welding. This gap helps to reduce the pressure on the bottom weld. Stainless steel socket weld flanges are known for good corrosion resistance properties. This flange type is commonly used in high-pressure piping systems due to its stronger connection.
