Alloy 317L is commonly used to handle pulp liquor, sulfur, acid dyestuffs, nitrating mixtures, acetylating, bleaching solutions, severe coal and oil, and many more chemical compounds. They are generally used for welding parts that will be used in highly corrosive environments such as chemical-processing plants, food-processing plants, petrochemical facilities, and paper-manufacturing facilities.
